A Celebratory Gathering!
A word from Craig Hills:
Friends & fellow Guildfordians; Many will be aware that for many years I've been working with a group of the like minded to turn the Lockwood Centre on Slyfield Industrial Estate, into an Arts, Innovation & Wellbeing Centre, now Lockwood Studios.
Well, at the end of May we signed a 10 year lease with Surrey County Council. The good news is that in just 3 months we have nearly filled all the currently available studio spaces, with a mix of local charities, individual artists, educators and partnering creative business's.
On Saturday the 27th of September we are opening the doors for a celebration of Guildford's first Festival of the Arts https://guildfordfestivalofthearts.co.uk/ for an evening of music, food the creative, including an exhibition curated by Guildford Arts. Tour the facilities and meet the Team. There will be a donation entry. From 5pm (for a tour). In partnership with Kane FM, Music Works & rikyskitchen.uk I look forward to seeing you there https://www.facebook.com/events/1121879949331227...
Lockwood Studios is a vibrant community hub that aims to unlock individual health and creative potential.
We offer a diverse programme of arts, events and wellbeing activities together with a range of flexible spaces for hire - meeting rooms, exhibition spaces, art studios, workshop areas, and a large multi-purpose venue.
Our (soon to open) welcoming café with courtyard garden serves to help foster networking, collaboration, and a positive, inclusive environment where health and creativity can flourish.

Guildford Jazz: Janette Mason, ReWired
Location: The Stoke Pub
Music: Ticketed
Hosted by: Guildford Jazz
Nominated for Jazz Musician of the Year, 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards
For her release, ReWired, Janette Mason has selected a basket full of all the tunes that mean the most to her, from timeless standards to modern chart classics, and reworked each of them with her long-time collaborators Tom Mason on bass and Eric Ford on drums.
With Janette at the helm, the original tunes’ irresistible melodic personalities are daringly expanded and reconfigured by the trio so that they delight the listener anew with the depth and sophistication of jazz while retaining the direct appeal of pop.
No-one is off limits and the repertoire draws from everyone from Gary Numan and David Bowie to Kate Bush and Olivia Rodrigo, with Janette’s fierce and inventive arrangements pulling everything together. Mixing deep grooves, gutsy swing, blazing solos and unforgettable melody, this is timeless music re-wired for the present day!
“Mixing deep grooves, gutsy swing, and unforgettable melody!”
